Ronald J. Davis

Ronald Jay Davis, 65, of St. Charles, IL, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2020. Ronnie was born on October 29, 1954 in Portsmouth, VA, the son of Lyle R. "Bob" Davis and Beverly (Hayes) Davis. He married Karen Shippy on September 22, 1990. Ronnie was a retired electronics engineer for L&J Technologies in Hillside, IL. He and Karen attended Christ Community Church in St. Charles, IL. Ronnie enjoyed fishing, boating, snorkeling, scuba diving, traveling, and above all, spending time with his family. After retiring, Ronnie especially enjoyed being a grandfather and teaching Emma to fish and doing all other activities with his beloved granddaughter. Ronnie is survived by his wife: Karen Davis of St. Charles, IL; mother: Beverly Davis of Decatur, IL; sons: Kyle Lee Davis of Crystal Lake, IL and Trevor Lyle Davis of St. Charles, IL; granddaughter: Emma Rose Davis; siblings: Robert Davis of Chesterfield, VA, Nancy Ulbricht of Atwood, IL, Randy (Lea Ann) Davis of Tucson, AZ, Roger (Nina) Davis of Spring Hill, FL and Brenda Rigg of Decatur, IL; numerous wonderful aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father. Private family services will be held. Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to your local homeless shelter in Ronnie's name.
